- Dustin Dienst — Fire Chief
The personnel are divided into three shifts with one captain, two fulltime firefighters and ten part-time firefighters assigned to each shift. The Faribault Fire Department operates out of one fire station. We protect our community of 22,500 with two engines, one 75 foot aerial, one heavy rescue truck, one rural tanker, and two pick-up trucks.
The department has three fulltime personnel per shift, with a minimum of two firefighters working twenty-four hour shifts. The officer-in-charge of the "on duty shift" is the Incident Commander for all emergency calls. That person has the option to respond with the on duty personnel, request a "shift call", which is three off duty fulltime firefighters and ten part-time firefighters, or an "all call", which pages all fire department personnel.
The Faribault Fire Department protects the city and one hundred and twenty six square miles in three and one half townships surrounding Faribault. The department provides fire suppression, heavy and tactical rescue, and medical first response, along with fire prevention, public education, fire inspection and pre-plan programs for our fire protection area.
The men and women of the fire department are proud of the services we provide for the citizens of Faribault and dedicated to making our community safer through our prevention, education, inspection and pre-plan programs.
