Development Review Committee

The Development Review Committee is a staff-level committee established to provide staff feedback and input on various development projects, including recommendations to the Planning Commission, City Council, or other boards and commissions. Members of the Committee include the City Administrator, Director of Public Works, Director of Development Services/City Engineer, Finance Director, Director of Parks and Recreation, Director of Community Development, Economic Development Specialist, Business Developer, Director of Fire and Code Services, Police Chief, Building Official, City Planner, and Zoning Administrator.

It is the responsibility of the DRC to conduct the administrative review of all site plan approval requests. The DRC process streamlines the development regulation process by minimizing the number of contacts customers have to make with city staff, and maximizes communication between city departments.

The DRC meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, and is occasionally convened for emergency reviews. Representatives from all city departments participate through assigned representatives. The City Planner chairs the DRC, and the Zoning Administrator is the primary staff responsible for coordinating and distributing the agendas and transcribing minutes. Project reports are prepared by Planning and Zoning staff depending on the nature of the project and area of responsibility.
