Family Ice Fishing?Clinic FREE - INDOORS Sat. Jan. 18, 2014. 1-5pm (Free Admission) An INDOOR?Event at Washington?Center (117 Shumway Ave. Faribault) To truly enjoy ice fishing, a unique Minnesota tradition, it usually involves some up-front preparation. Because of this, Faribault Park &?Rec, Cabelas, and the Rice Co. Sportfishing Association have put together a free indoor family activity on Sat. Jan. 18, from 1-5pm. This fun event happens on the state’s “Take a Kid Ice Fishing Weekend,” and will introduce kids and adults to the world of ice fishing. The mission of the clinic is to educate, and to help families plan for a safe and enjoyable outing on the ice!? The day will include many fun hands-on activities for kids, door prizes, a Clam Pro Staff Ice?Fishing Seminar, an Ice Safety Demo by the Faribault Fire Department, and displays of Cabela fishing gear, Clam shelters, tackle, cold-weather clothing and related items. ? The first 50 kids to pre-register at Parks &?Recreation (or by calling 334-2064), receive free Cabelas tackle at the event! Sponsored by Cabelas, Rice Co. Sportfishing Association, Clam Outdoors, and Faribault Parks &?Recreation. Funded in part by a Rice Co. Chemical Health Coalition grant.
