Part-Time Library Technician

General Duties

This position performs technical library work with a variety of para-professional library duties.  It provides library services to the City and a portion of the County.  Basic activities include the acquisition of materials, organization and circulation of materials, assistance in the use of materials, reference services, and maintenance of library resources.

Position Requirements:

High School education or equivalent.

Ability to deal effectively with the public.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge of library practices, policies, and philosophy.

Ability to use a computer, Internet, email, mobile devices and emerging technologies.

Desired Qualifications:

Prefer a BA degree or combination of educating and experience in library support.

Starting Pay: $18.65

Work Hours: 

Monday – Thursday, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Part-Time Community Services Officer

General Duties

Monitor for compliance of park regulations, bike trails, traffic control, as well as public relations. To enforce parking ordinances and laws, investigate animal complaints, impound or quarantine animals, issue violation tags, and enforce city ordinances.  Respond to public nuisance issues, and non-enforcement type support services for the public while assisting the police department’s patrol division. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School graduate or equivalent.

Must be 18 years or older at time of employment.

Possession of a valid Class D Minnesota Driver’s License without record of suspension or revocation in any state (within three years).

No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories (within seven years).

Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year or more of public contact or customer service experience.

Experience working in a Police Department.

Starting Pay: $19.80

Library Page

Position Functions:

Position focuses on shelving books and other library materials and keeping the library clean and orderly.Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be able to read, alphabetize and put numbers in order (including decimals).

Work Hours:  

13 hours per week (Thursday, 9 a.m. -1 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

Starting Pay:  $10.00 - $11.50 per hour

Library Circulation Aide

Position Functions:
Performs a variety of routine clerical and manual work in circulating library materials and providing service to library patrons.

Minimum qualifications:

Education: High school education preferred or currently in High School.

Experience: Experience in customer service; public library experience is preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in keyboarding and computer skills.

Experience using cash register/making change and operating office equipment.
 
Work Hours:

Varies - 8-13 hours per week, part-time schedule

Pay Range:  $12 per hour
