Electric Vehicles

The fastest-selling EVs are electric bikes!

This isn’t your childhood bike! With ranges up to 100 miles and top speeds of 28 miles per hour, e-bikes are a low-cost and fun way to get around town. From cargo bikes for hauling kids and groceries, to fat-tire bikes for off-road and winter riding, find out what the buzz is about.

You can charge your EV at home from a simple outlet. This “Level 1” charge will provide about 60 miles of charge in 10 hours, great for infrequent or low-mileage drivers, and will fully charge an e-bike in a few hours.

Level 2 chargers can be installed at your home by a qualified electrician and charge five times faster, providing up to 300+ miles of charge overnight. These are the most commonly available public chargers.

Level 3 chargers, or “Fast Chargers,” provide nearly a full charge in 20-30 minutes.

Check with your utility provider for different programs and incentives for charging your EV at home.

You Can Charge With Clean Energy

You have the option to get some or all of your energy from renewable sources. Xcel Energy’s Windsource® gives you the option to pay a little extra every month to get as much wind energy as you want to fuel your vehicle. To get more info and complete the online application, visit Xcel Energy’s Windsource page.
