Previous Week Review 8/31/19-9/6/19
Watermain and sanitary sewer utility work was completed in the 700 block up to 8th Avenue NW. Storm sewer, drain tile
and sand were placed in the 600 block and more concrete sidewalk and driveways were completed in the 400 & 500
blocks. Work also began between 8th Avenue and Irving Avenue with pavement milling and removals.
Next Week Look Ahead 9/7/2019-9/13/2019
The final lift of bituminous pavement is scheduled to be completed between Central Avenue and 4th Avenue NW today (9/6/19) and tomorrow (9/7/19) as well as paving in the driveways in the 400 and 500 blocks. The stripers are scheduled to be on site Monday (9/9/19) to place the permanent striping from Central Avenue to 4th Avenue NW and once the striping is done the signal systems at Central Avenue, 2nd Avenue and 4th Avenue will be placed into normal operations. Utility crews are scheduled to complete the remaining utility services and storm sewer in the 700 block and street crews should have the 600 block roadway complete through gravel. The electrician is scheduled to set more street lights and the concrete crews will continue filling in sidewalks, driveways and decorative concrete up to 6th Avenue NW. The contractor is also scheduled to complete the bituminous milling of TH 60 from Hulett Avenue to Irving Avenue on Tuesday (9/10/19) next week.
General Traffic Control/Detour Notes
During the duration of the entire project and through the entire project limits which extend from Lyndale Avenue/TH 21 on the west end to Central Avenue on the east end, thru traffic will be detoured off TH 60 and rerouted along 2nd Avenue NW, TH 3/20th Street NW and TH 21 (see detour map link above) Portions of TH 60/4th Street NW within the project limits may be signed “Road Open to Local Traffic or Road Closed to Thru Traffic” or something similar. Please keep in mind that “local traffic/access” is defined as having direct access on TH 60, or having business with someone or a business who has direct access on TH 60. If you do not fall into either of these two categories, you should not be on TH 60 within the project limits at any time. Travel on TH 60 within the project limits should take place only when there is no other possible alternative. Also please be respectful of private property and do not use private property to “short cut” the detour route.
Pedestrian traffic will be maintained to the maximum extent practical to provide access to businesses and residents who have access to TH 60, however other portions of sidewalk will be closed to facilitate construction work and those sidewalks will be detoured along an alternate pedestrian route (typically around the block). Phase 1 (Central to Fourth) Access Notes:

4th St NW/TH 60 is now closed from 6th Avenue to Irving Avenue for Phase 3 construction.

4th St NW/TH 60 is now closed from 6th Avenue to 8th Avenue NW for Phase 3 construction. The intersection of 8th Avenue is expected to be closed September 5th or 6th for removals and utility work to proceed.
