Faribault Community Center reopens Jan. 4

City of Faribault Parks and Rec

Please find below a detailed look at Faribault Parks and Recreation's re-opening plans. Note that these are subject to change as State restrictions continue to evolve.

Starting Monday, Jan. 4, the Faribault Community Center will be returning to the regular hours:

•       M-Th: 5:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.

•       Fri: 5:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.

•       Sat: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

•       Sun: 12 - 6 p.m.

With the current restrictions imposed by the State, there are many changes. Please read this carefully to ensure continued compliance. One major change that needs to be adhered to is constant mask-wearing, which includes while working out. The only time a mask can be off is when in the shower, or in the pool. Additionally, 12-foot social distancing will be required during all workout times. Six-foot social distancing is required while in the locker rooms, pool deck, hallways, etc.

All below changes take effect Jan. 4. Please note, due to the Holiday on Friday, Jan. 1, and because we're closed over the weekend, we will be allowing people to register for Monday's programs starting Thursday, Dec. 31.

Fitness Room

• Parks and Recreation staff have moved some equipment from the fitness room into the gymnasium to allow for the required 12-foot distance while working out. Most cardio equipment is now located in the gymnasium while the weight-lifting machines are in the fitness room.

• The fitness room is only available to 3 persons at one time, and must be reserved in 1-hour time slots. Twelve-foot social distancing during workouts is mandatory.

• The gymnasium, which now holds most cardio equipment, is available to 5 people at one time, and must be reserved in 1-hour time slots. Twelve-foot social distancing during workouts is mandatory.

• Reservations can only be made 24 hours in advance, and can be made via phone at 507-334-2064.

Aquatics

• Must call to reserve spot within 24 hours of class. No reservations prior to 24 hours of aquatics time will be taken.

• If possible, please leave in your swim suit via glass doors to building lobby, after drying body and suit.

• Mask-wearing is mandatory while in the building, including in locker rooms, and while waiting to enter the water. Masks should be put back on immediately after exiting the water. Masks may be removed to shower, but must be put on after. Please use family changing rooms if available.

• Patrons must shower before entering the water, per Minnesota Department of Health pool rules.

• Pool users must wait on bleachers accommodating 6-foot distancing, until lane is available or instructor indicates participants may enter. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior your time.

Lap Swim

• Limit 1 person per lane, with swimmers starting at the opposite sides of the pool. You will be assigned a lane when you reserve a time slot. Lanes will be numbered and a cone indicating your lane start point.

• Maximum of 1 hour in the pool (You will sign up for two, 30-minute time slots. Lifeguards will still blow their whistle every 30 minutes but do not need all patrons to clear the water, if they signed up for two sessions). If you arrive late, you will still have to exit the pool at the conclusion of the scheduled session.

Lap Swim Schedule

•       M-F: 6-7:30 a.m.

•       M-Sat: 11-1:00 p.m.

•       Monday: 5-6 p.m.
